Prepare to embark on a captivating 5-day driving tour through Southern Ireland, an experience designed to unveil the most scenic and historically rich landscapes Ireland has to offer. This meticulously planned journey from the vibrant streets of Dublin to the serene vistas of Killarney and the cultural heart of Galway is the perfect escape for those who love to explore the open road with a touch of adventure.

Day 1: Arrival and Journey to Waterford

• Start at Dublin Port: Meet at Dublin after your ferry journey and begin your Irish adventure.
• Travel to Waterford: Drive from Dublin to Waterford, known for its rich medieval history and the famed Waterford Crystal. Explore the ancient city streets and soak in the vibrant history.

Day 2: Waterford to Killarney via the South Coast

• Depart Waterford: Start your drive towards the breathtaking southern coast.
• Scenic Stops: Journey through Ireland’s rugged coastlines, stopping at picturesque spots along the way, including the dramatic Beara Peninsula.
• Tour the Ring of Kerry: Spend the day driving through the Iveragh Peninsula, known as the Ring of Kerry, a 179-km-long circular tourist route. Enjoy stunning views of coastal landscapes, mountains, and lush greenery.
• Arrive in Killarney: Conclude your day at Killarney, a town renowned for its national park, lakes, and welcoming atmosphere. Rest at the Hotel Killarney, where comfort meets elegance.

Day 3: Killarney to Galway via the Wild Atlantic Way

• Depart Killarney: Head north towards Galway, tracing part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
• Visit Cliffs of Moher: If the weather is dry, we'll aim to stop off to marvel at the Cliffs of Moher, an absolute must-see with their dramatic drop into the Atlantic Ocean.
• Arrive in Galway: End the day in Galway, known for its bustling streets, vibrant arts scene, and the beautiful Galway Bay.

Day 4: Galway and The best of the Wild Atlantic Way

• Depart Galway: Heading out early, as we have the longest of days.

• Scenic Drive to Connemara: Head west from Galway into the heart of Connemara. Known for its rugged wilderness, Connemara offers landscapes that are starkly beautiful, with sweeping views of boglands and mist-covered mountains.

• Sky Road and Clifden: Navigate the famous Sky Road, one of the most picturesque areas in the Connemara region. Stop in Clifden for a quick visit, perhaps enjoying a coffee while overlooking the town’s unique setting between the Twelve Bens mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.

• Through Mayo to Hodson Bay: Drive northeast through County Mayo, known for its lakes and rivers, providing tranquil views and a sense of peace away from the bustling tourist paths. The route will take you through quaint villages and past historical sites, offering a glimpse into rural Irish life.

• Arrival at Hodson Bay: Conclude your day at Hodson Bay on the shores of Lough Ree in County Roscommon.

Day 5: Return to Dublin

• Drive to Dublin: Complete your tour with a drive back to Dublin to catch your return ferry to Holyhead. Reflect on the memories and scenic beauty of Southern Ireland.

Join us for a festive December drive that combines the spirit of adventure with the magic of Ireland.

Pricing

We are including as much as we can, apart from lunches & daytime drinks in our price, so it really is great value!  This includes the following:

• Return Ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, premium class with lounge access
• 4* Hotels for each of the 4 evenings
• Planned stops for lunch and coffee along each day's route
• A £200 meal allowance for each person, £50 per night
• 3 Full Days of Amazing Roads plus 1/2 day drives on the 1st and 5tth day.
• Tour Guide for each day, including full Google Maps Routes for you to follow along.
• Radios, if you want to drive with the group (if you bring your own, remember to bring your charging cradle)
• A PCE T-Shirt to wear (and keep) on one or two of the days.

The total price for full members is expected to be around £1,700 per couple, or £1,500 as a single occupant.

The total price for associates is expected to be around £1,800 per couple, or £1,600 as a single occupant.

To ensure a nice stress free drive, and to ensure a great opportunity to get to know fellow members, we are limiting this to 8 cars.  To secure your place, we will require a deposit of £500 per car.  

The balance will be due 4 weeks prior to departure.
