Rev & Ramble: A Weekend of Castles and Cathedrals

Embark on an exhilarating journey through the heart of England, where the road stretches before you, dotted with majestic castles and soaring cathedrals. This two-day driving tour is designed for enthusiasts who delight in the roar of an engine and the sight of historical architecture. From the stately outlines of Tamworth and Sudeley Castles to the spiritual grandeur of Worcester and Hereford Cathedrals, prepare for a weekend where every mile brings a new discovery.

Day 1: Castles and Countryside Drive

Starting Point: The Cottage Kitchen Country Café, near Leek

Morning

• Kick-Off at The Cottage Kitchen: Gather for an initial briefing and a quick coffee before starting the drive.
• Drive Past Tamworth & Kenilworth Castles: Enjoy the majestic view of these two Castles from the road, capturing their historical essence without leaving the comfort of your car.
• Continue on to Caffeine & Machine: Take the scenic roads leading to this unique spot in The Cotswolds, a haven for car lovers.

Lunch

• Lunch at Caffeine & Machine: Take a break for lunch amidst an array of classic and contemporary vehicles, enjoying good food and great company.

Afternoon

• Cotswolds Drive: Enjoy a short drive around some of The Cotswolds best roads including...
• Sudeley Castle Drive-By: Capture a quick roadside photo of Sudeley Castle, set against the stunning backdrop of the Cotswolds.
• Head to Hotel: After Sudeley Castle, we will head over to our hotel in Cheltenham ready to relax for the evening.

Evening

• Dinner in Cheltenham: Arrive at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham. Dinner has been arranged at the hotel.  This is not included in the event cost and will be paid for on the day.  Get yourself a good night's rest, and wake for an included breadfast in the morning.  

Day 2: Cathedral Trail

Starting Point: DoubleTree by Hilton, Cheltenham

Morning

• Drive Past Worcester Cathedral: Start the day with a beautiful view of Worcester Cathedral, an icon of medieval architecture.
• Hereford Cathedral Drive-By: Drive by Hereford Cathedral, taking in the sight of this historic structure renowned for its chained library and the Mappa Mundi.

Lunch

• Lunch Stop: Enjoy lunch at a scenic spot along the route, offering a chance to discuss the morning's sights and relax before the afternoon drive.

Afternoon

• Lichfield Cathedral Photo Op: Conclude the cathedral trail with a drive past Lichfield Cathedral, famous for its three spires.
• Conclude in Stafford: The journey ends in Stafford. Take the opportunity to share stories and photos from the drive at a casual gathering before departure.

Price Breakdown

The price for both days is: £184.74 for Standard Members and £164.79 for Full Members.  Dinner & Lunches to be paid for individually on the event.

The details of the event follow below:

• Hotel on Saturday Night - £169, including breakast for 2 people - all currently booked rooms are King Size rooms, based upon 2 people sharing.  If you are coming alone, I may be able to adjust the rooms, but this depends upon availability.  Just book as normal, and if I can get a refund for your second person's breakfast, I will let you know before you make your final payment.
• Caffeine & Machine on Saturday for Lunch - £10.79 - I will book this as each person pays their deposit.  This only covers the cost of entry per car.  Any food will be paid for on the day.
• Dinner Saturday Evening - Paid for on the day
• Sunday Lunch - To be confirmed.  If necessary, your deposit will be used, but once I have an idea of numbers, I will get somewhere booked en-route.
• Drive Organisation - £19.95 per car for non members.  Free for paying members.

To secure your spot, we are asking for a small £25 deposit, plus booking fee.  The balance will be due the weekend before, by Sunday 13th October.  Hotel Rooms cannot be cancelled after Tuesday 15th October, so if you have not paid your balance by this time, your place will be withdrawn so we do not incur a large hotel bill.
